1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how MEND collects, uses, stores, shares and deletes personal information when providing a social service built around one meaningful connection at a time. It applies to the MEND mobile application and its official website.
MEND is intended only for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly provide the service to children.
2. Information We Process
- Account information: registration email, account identifier, login session, and the legal-document versions and timestamps you actively accept. Password credentials must be handled irreversibly by the production authentication service and are not stored in business records.
- Profile and matching information: display name, age, personality tags, interests, biography, matching preferences, relationship status and limited activity timestamps.
- Relationship and content information: relationship membership and status, text messages, selected photos, recorded voice messages, read state, repair conversations, time-capsule content and shared memories. Repair drafts remain private until both people submit. Time-capsule text is stored in encrypted form before its opening time.
- Purchase information: product identifier, App Store transaction identifier, diamond balance and transaction history. When Apple reports a completed purchase through StoreKit, MEND credits the matching diamond pack and records the transaction identifier to prevent duplicate credit. We do not collect full payment-card details; Apple processes payment.
- Safety and support information: reported object, reason, additional details, report reference, block relationship, support request and resolution status.
- Technical information: limited data needed to maintain sessions, complete requests, diagnose failures and keep the service reliable, such as operating-system type, app version, request time and network errors.
3. Device Permissions
When you choose to send a photo, MEND opens the system photo picker and receives only the media you select. When you choose to record a voice message, MEND requests microphone access. Declining either permission affects only that feature. You can change permissions in device settings.
MEND does not request SMS permission, read or send text messages, use SMS verification, or use phone numbers as a sign-in method.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to create and authenticate accounts, restore valid sessions, present profiles, match one connection at a time, support communication and repair conversations, create and open time capsules, upload selected media, process completed store purchases and grant diamonds, prevent duplicate transaction credit, process reports and blocks, respond to account deletion, diagnose problems, maintain the service and meet applicable legal obligations.
5. Sharing and Visibility
Profile information needed for matching is shown only to people participating in matching or an active connection. Messages, exchanged repair content and opened time capsules are shown only within the relevant connection. Reports, account information, diamond history and unopened capsule keys are handled privately.
We do not sell personal information. We disclose only the information necessary to providers supporting hosting, storage, network delivery and App Store payments, or to authorities when legally required.
6. Storage, Retention and Security
We use HTTPS for network transfers, controlled storage and time-limited access links for private media, and encryption for unopened time-capsule text. We use access controls, data minimization and appropriate audit measures to reduce unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or loss.
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here. After account deletion, business data is removed through the deletion flow. Limited records may remain when required by law or necessary for payment reconciliation, dispute resolution, safety reports or proof that a relationship ended.
7. Purchases and virtual diamonds
Apple processes payments through the App Store. MEND receives product and transaction identifiers, not full payment-card details. Diamonds are virtual content used for digital time capsules. A completed StoreKit transaction is credited immediately in the app, and a transaction identifier is stored with the private diamond ledger to avoid granting the same purchase twice.
8. Your Choices and Rights
In the app, you can view or edit your profile, hide a message from your own view, report or block another person, sign out and permanently delete your account. Confirmed account deletion begins immediately without a cooling-off or reversal period. Successful deletion invalidates the local session and cannot be undone.
To request access, correction, deletion, restriction or information about personal-data processing, contact us below. We may verify that the requester is connected to the relevant account.
9. International and Regional Rights
Rights vary by location. Where applicable, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, or appeal a decision. You may also contact your local data-protection authority.
10. Policy Updates
We may update this policy when features, providers or legal requirements change. We will update the effective date and, for material changes to processing purposes, information types or user rights, ask you to review and actively accept the updated policy before continuing.
