1. Agreement and Eligibility
These Terms govern your download, registration, sign-in and use of MEND. Before registering or signing in, you must read and actively accept these Terms and the MEND Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
MEND is intended only for people aged 18 and over. You may not register or use the service if you are under 18.
2. Service
MEND is a private social space built around one meaningful connection at a time. Features include profiles, matching, text, photo and voice communication, repair conversations, time capsules, shared memories, reporting, blocking and account deletion. MEND does not show a public candidate list during matching, and an account with an active connection cannot create another connection at the same time.
Features may evolve. Material changes affecting user rights will be communicated through updated terms or an in-app acceptance flow.
3. Accounts
You register and sign in using an email address and password. You must provide accurate information, maintain access to your email and protect your credentials. Your account is personal and may not be rented, sold, transferred, lent or controlled by another person.
You may not use MEND for unlawful activity, fraud, harassment, impersonation, infringement, harmful or exploitative content, interference with the service, or conduct that violates the rights of users, MEND or third parties.
4. User Content and Conduct
You are responsible for the text, photos, voice messages and other content you share, and you represent that you have the rights needed to share it. You must not send unlawful, infringing, fraudulent, hateful, threatening, sexually exploitative or otherwise harmful content, including inappropriate content involving minors.
Hiding a message removes it only from your own view. You can report a visible user or message and block the person in your active connection. Blocking immediately prevents further communication and ends the connection.
You retain ownership of your content. You grant MEND a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, reproduce and display it only as needed to operate, secure and improve the service and comply with law. This license ends when content is deleted, subject to lawful retention and technical backup periods.
5. Repair Conversations and Ending a Connection
Repair conversations let each person privately describe facts, feelings and expectations. A draft remains private until both people submit. After exchange, either person can independently continue, pause or end the connection without the other's consent.
Either person may end an active connection at any time. Messaging stops after the connection ends. The product may apply a recovery period before the account can enter matching again.
6. Diamonds and Time Capsules
Diamonds are virtual content used within MEND to create time capsules. They are not legal currency and cannot be transferred, withdrawn or redeemed for cash. Diamond packs are one-time consumable purchases, not subscriptions. Prices, taxes and settlement currency are those displayed by the App Store at purchase time.
Creating one time capsule costs 60 diamonds. If the creator cancels before acceptance, the other person declines, or the invitation expires, spent diamonds may be returned under the product rules. Once both people seal the capsule, a later relationship change does not refund that cost. Content becomes available only after the chosen opening time and completion of the opening flow.
Apple and applicable App Store rules govern payment processing, refunds and disputes. Diamonds are credited when StoreKit reports a completed purchase, and the transaction ID prevents the same purchase from being credited twice. You must not exploit defects, duplicate orders or falsified transactions to obtain virtual content.
7. Availability and Disclaimers
We take reasonable steps to maintain availability, but network failures, maintenance, the App Store, infrastructure providers, device permissions and events beyond reasonable control may interrupt the service. To the extent permitted by law, MEND is provided on an as-available basis.
MEND provides communication tools. It does not guarantee a match or the formation, continuation or outcome of any relationship. You are responsible for your interactions and decisions.
8. Suspension, Termination and Account Deletion
We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a Terms violation, protect users or the service, comply with law, or respond to fraud or security threats. Where appropriate and legally permitted, we will provide notice or an opportunity to appeal.
You can permanently delete your account in the app. Confirmed deletion begins immediately without a cooling-off or reversal period. After successful deletion, business data and the local session are handled as described in the Privacy Policy and cannot be restored, except for limited records required by law or necessary to resolve a dispute.
9. Intellectual Property
MEND's software, brand, interface and original materials are owned by or licensed to MEND and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant rights to copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer or commercially exploit them except where applicable law does not allow such a restriction.
10. Changes, Governing Terms and Contact
We may update these Terms in response to legal or product changes. We will update the effective date and require renewed acceptance for material changes. Consumer protections that cannot lawfully be excluded remain in effect.
